Anyone comparing hyaluronic acid booster near Mirdif Dubai will find every clinic naming the same ingredient and none explaining why their version differs. Hyaluronic acid is not one product. The molecules come in different sizes, the preparations behave differently in tissue, and two treatments described identically can do different things. Dermabloom Medical Center sits at Villa 44C, 83rd Street in Mirdif. Call 04 268 8226 to arrange an assessment.
Molecule Size Decides Almost Everything
Hyaluronic acid is measured by molecular weight, and the range is enormous. The differences matter more than any brand name.
High molecular weight HA consists of long chains. It holds a great deal of water, sits mostly in the upper dermis, and cannot travel far because the molecules are physically too large. It hydrates and plumps the surface.
Low molecular weight HA is fragmented into shorter chains. It penetrates deeper, disperses further, and does something the long chains do not — the fragments act as a signal. Broken HA is what your skin produces when tissue is damaged, so its presence prompts a repair response rather than simply adding water.
A preparation that blends both aims to hydrate immediately and stimulate over time. That is why the better products specify their weight range and the cheaper ones say only “hyaluronic acid”.
The Question Worth Asking at Consultation
Ask what molecular weight is in the product and why that suits your skin. A clinic that can answer is choosing products; one that cannot is using whatever the supplier delivered.
It matters practically. Dehydrated but otherwise healthy skin does well on high weight. Thin, crepey skin showing early structural change benefits more from a blend that signals repair. Getting this wrong does no harm — it simply wastes a course.
How It Compares to the Other Boosters
Several treatments occupy this space and they are not interchangeable.
Hyaluronic acid hydrates reliably, shows a visible change within about a week, and has the largest body of evidence behind it. Its limitation is that hydration is temporary — the molecule is broken down and cleared, so results need maintaining.
Polynucleotides and salmon DNA work by signalling rather than hydrating. Slower to show, potentially longer-lasting, but resting on a thinner evidence base. Our salmon DNA page sets out what that evidence does and does not cover.
Vitamin and amino acid cocktails supply nutrients rather than water or a repair signal. Evidence varies widely by formula, and the mesotherapy page covers what to ask.
Microneedling provokes repair mechanically rather than chemically. Different mechanism, frequently combined with the above.
For a first treatment where the concern is dullness and dehydration, hyaluronic acid is the conservative and sensible starting point. It works, it is predictable, and if you dislike the result it clears on its own.
Where It Is Placed
Depth changes the outcome as much as the product does.
Placed too superficially, the product creates visible small lumps that take weeks to settle. Placed too deep, it disperses into tissue that was not the target and the skin quality change never arrives. The intended level is the mid to upper dermis, and hitting it consistently across a whole face is a skill rather than a setting on a device.
Common areas are the cheeks, the area around the mouth, the neck and the backs of the hands. Hands respond particularly well because the skin there is thin and rarely treated.
What to Expect Across a Course
Two to three sessions, spaced three to four weeks apart, then maintenance every four to six months.
The first week brings a noticeable change in how the skin holds light, which is mostly hydration. That is real but it is the quickest and shortest-lived part of the effect. Improvements in firmness and texture accumulate across the course rather than arriving after session one.
Expect small raised points at the injection sites for a few hours, occasional pinpoint bruising, and mild tenderness. Nothing that needs planning around beyond avoiding an event the same evening.
Aftercare
No makeup for the rest of the day. No gym, sauna or steam for forty-eight hours. No facial massage or aggressive cleansing for five days. Daily sun protection, which matters here more than most places.
Drink water normally — the product draws water from the tissue around it, and arriving dehydrated reduces what it has to work with.
Contact us for spreading redness, increasing rather than decreasing pain, or any lump that hardens rather than settling.
When Something Else Suits You Better
If volume has genuinely gone from your cheeks or temples, this is not the treatment — that needs filler, and our face filler page covers it.
If your concern is established acne scarring, needling across a course does the work.
If pigmentation is the main issue, hydration will not change it and treating the cause comes first.
If your skin is inflamed or you have active acne, injecting into it is inadvisable until that settles.
Why Patients Choose Dermabloom
Dr. Sarah Magdy holds a DHA Physician-Specialist licence in Dermatology, so assessment establishes whether your skin needs hydration, structure or something medical before any product is selected. We will name the preparation and its molecular weight, and we will say when a course would not be worth your money.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from a hyaluronic acid serum?
A serum sits on intact skin, where the molecule is far too large to pass through in any meaningful quantity. Injecting places it in the dermis, which is where it can hold water and act as a signal.
Will it make my face look fuller?
Not in the way filler does. Skin holding water properly looks better, but no shape is added and nothing is lifted.
How long does it last?
The hydration effect fades over a few months. Firmness and texture gains from a full course persist longer. Most patients maintain every four to six months.
Does it hurt?
The needle is very fine and topical anaesthetic is available. Most patients describe brief stinging rather than pain, with the area around the mouth being the most sensitive.
Can it be dissolved if I do not like it?
Hyaluronidase dissolves hyaluronic acid and we keep it on site. With uncrosslinked preparations it is rarely needed, since the product clears naturally within months.
Can I have this alongside botulinum toxin or filler?
Frequently, though not always in the same appointment. We sequence rather than stack, and we will explain the order at consultation.
